Bilbrough's Electric Inc. is honored to assist in construction of the 404 Memorial Garden. Because of the deaths of so many loved
ones lost from traffic accdents on Maryland's Rt. 404. A committee known as C-Team (Citizens For Transportation Emergency Action of
Maryland) was formed and supported by many family members and concerned citizens. Their Dedication to the memory of their dear loved
ones and to the desperate need for action to be taken to end this needless loss of life on Maryland's dangerous strech of highway
have been the foundation of this memorial site. Private donations were raised because of concerned citizens and family members such
as Jim Voss, who was instrumental in advancing this project and Mrs. Marie Freeman whose baby daughter Brianna, passed away after
a tragic accident in 2000 on Maryland's Rt. 404. As a token of love, the family of Robert A. Means ( whose life was also cut short
on Rt. 404), donated the flag pole that will display the Maryland and U.S. Flags.Other businesses and citizens who so graciously donated
to the site were: Eastern Shore Flagpoles, Randy Moore Memorials, Fred Hubbard and Choptank Electric, Brandon T. Nier CPA, Friends
of John Donahue, Jason Rex and Rex Landscaping, Virginia Richardson, Chester River Landscaping and Shorty Neff, Sue Simmons and
Joseph R. Smith. In addition, the families of Brianna Freeman, Robert Moore Blades Jr. and Robert Wade Buckle will pay homage to their
loved ones with the donation of memorial benches.
At a newley constructed site, located adjacent to Rt. 404 on the
eastbound side, the Memorial Garden will allow family members, friends, and concerned citizens to reflect on lives of lost loved ones
and raise awareness of the desperate problem that Rt. 404,s dangerous highway poses for drivers.
The Memorial was
dedicated on May 22, 2011. see Facebook: 404 Memorial Garden for more information.
